ist impression… I like it… I like it a lot. This Whisky oozes Japanese heritage, its subtle yet robust, bright yet pale and edgy yet refined. Its Ying and Yang in one dram and balanced on the edge of a Katana with a overlying sweetness.
As far as whisky goes, its defiantly not the most complex going around and by no means is a thinker, it’s a doer. It reminds me of a Toyota Prado, you know most people will like it, its reliable, nicely presented, going to be good while you drive it and when its finished… you will most likely get another one.
For $85 AUD from Dan Murphys, The Chita represents solid value for money, and we couldn’t be happier. This is one to share with guests after dinner or a casual sip while kicking back on the couch.
Cheers!!
Review Notes
- Nose: Cardamom, rose bud, honeydew melon and a slight hint of special K.
- Taste: Sweet, like a vanilla cake drenched in deep manuka honey and some earthy spice.
- Finish: This is what impresses, its mid length hold, zesty, bitter, sweet, and presents a jaunty subtle mint layer on the tongue. Refreshes the pallet for the next sip.
